Lauren oversees Grubb Properties’ developments in the New York market as well as developments in the Bay Area, California; Denver, Colo.; and Washington, DC. Lauren previously was Senior Development Director at AvalonBay Communities, where she oversaw $1.3B of development and had the pleasure working on some of the company’s most high-profile developments. She oversaw the development of 1865 Broadway/The Park Loggia, a mixed-use tower that has approximately 340,000 sf of residential (172 condominium units) and 70,000 sf of retail (TDC-$626M). She also was actively involved in AVB’s expansion into Southeast Florida and oversaw the development of a joint venture partnership with Trammel Crow Residential (TCR) in Doral, Florida, a 350-unit building (TDC- $116M) and led the joint venture partnership with Mast Capital in Miami, Florida, a 254-unit building (TDC-$95M). She previously led the development of Avalon Willoughby Square/AVA Do Bro, an 826-unit residential tower located in Downtown Brooklyn, formerly known as the tallest building in Brooklyn. Lauren was also actively involved in identifying, sourcing, and underwriting future development projects in both New York and Florida.

Prior to joining to AvalonBay Communities, Lauren was an Assistant Vice President of Development at the Gotham Organization, Inc. From 2007 to 2009, Lauren was an Assistant Development Director at Western Development Corporation, located in Washington, DC.

Lauren’s early professional experience also included a position at Liberty Property Trust in Philadelphia, where she was a team member within the Urban and National Development Group. A trained architect, Lauren initially began her career with the esteemed architectural firm, Robert A.M. Stern Architects in New York City.

Lauren received her BA in Architecture from Columbia University and a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Pennsylvania, along with a Degree Certificate in Real Estate Design Development from the Wharton School of Business. She is President of WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate and a member and board member of Urban Land Institute (ULI). Previously, she was Co-Chair for ULI New York’s Housing Council (2013-2016), the Co-Chair for the ULI Young Leaders Group (YLG) for ULI New York (2011-2013), Vice Chair for YLG ULI Washington (2008-2009) and Co-Chair of YLG ULI Philadelphia (2006-2007).
